New World Now has ‘mixed’ overall ratings on Steam, player count dwindling

Since launch, New World players have faced a variety of issues, resulting in mixed overall review scores and a dwindling player base.
When New world to be When it was first released, the game took the MMORPG genre by storm, and countless Steam players flocked to play. The game was so loved by fans that New world lucky owner struggled to keep up with the increase in players, so Amazon Studios has taken many precautions since then to make the game accessible to everyone.
However, despite the positive aspects of the game, a large portion of the player base is starting to change their tune. Recently, New world review on Steam achieved mixed ratings overall, with only 69% of the 176,390 total positive reviews for the game.
Many people attribute the game’s drop to patches for New world, did things like reduced core mechanical strength and slowed Mote drops from creatures. From these slow and gradual changes, among other reasons, player count has dropped from an all-time high of 913,027 to just around 100,000 players this month.
Some of the top Steam reviews provide more reasons for players to be upset with the current state of the game. First, gamers feel as if recently patches in New world reflected the opinions of popular content creators and streamers, rather than an entire dedicated player base. On top of that, they feel as though the devs have implemented end-game leveling methods to push the player’s gear into a more grueling farming process, which is a problem because in the first place many considered it taxing.
Some of the other reasons listed, and better known by the player base, are innumerable New world malfunction and bugs that seriously hindered the player’s experience. While players understand that all new MMOs have bugs and are likely to be fixed soon, it still costs the game too much of its enjoyment. Gamers have also stated that faction power imbalance is also a big problem in the game, with a server being owned entirely by a single company. Unfortunately, they are scared as if there is no solution in sight.
However, there’s been an uptick in positive player reviews lately, so there could be potential for the game to return. However, some people expressed doubts and said the reason was the Steam Awards review achievement. Most of the posts in that period are from people who haven’t played the game much in the past two weeks. Whatever the case may be, there are still a lot of issues that Amazon Studios needs to fix if the company is to keep the game in the kindness of the players it has left behind.
