Some New World Companies are using an exploit that allows them to attack themselves and keep control of territory indefinitely.
New world is doing much better these days than it has been a month or two since launch, and that’s because Amazon Game Studios has proven to be open to feedback, really changing things in the game that add up. Although the game is far from coming out, the main thing about it is that the developer is still working hard and wants to see New world success, maybe with more new updates.
One of the main problems is New world has always been rife with glitches and exploits since launch, such as a gold copy bug where players could use high latency to make in-game refunds, but anyway complete the coin transfer. A Reddit user named Isagiyoku shared a post showing that New world Companies are using their subsidiaries to attack themselves and prevent further Wars from being declared over territories controlled by them. This is an exploit that makes it impossible for Companies and other factions to dethrone those currently in power, making it even harder to control other territories in Aeternum. Wars are inherently painful at times as some weapons prevail over others and trivialize wars, and problems like this make it worse.
However, having a War-ready Subsidiary is no easy task, and New world Players have shown that it is still more valuable to try to defend a certain territory against conventional attackers than to set things up with this exploit. The fact that players use Subsidiaries to attack their company or use exploits such as the Enemy Company’s mass reporting to maintain or gain control of a certain territory may be due to a flawed tax system that benefits the responsible person rather than a settlement.
In fact, New world players have requested a way to rebel against their own Faction for a while, and the reason is that the Company can do more harm than good. However, this doesn’t seem to be one of Amazon’s priorities at the moment, which means a change in direction may have to come later – if it ever happens.
