New Video Series ‘Around the Emberring’ Features Devs Adrift Embers on Goals and Vision for the Sandbox MMORPG

Embers Adrift is aiming for a scheduled release in 2022, and the first episode of what will be the monthly developer update and Q&A video series, Around Emberring, has now been released. This appears when the game’s first trailer is set to Released on January 1st.
The format of the first episode looks at the development of the game as well as change direction and modify and their overall vision. Embers Adrift intends to be a team-oriented game that focuses on community collaboration, while also making room for solo players.
This first episode stars the game’s executive producer, John Gust, lead developer Robert Thomson, and content developer Jonathan Zink. If you are not familiar with the development history and story behind the current project Embers Adrift, watching this video will help you get up to speed. Gust started with some of the thinking and planning behind their goal in creating this MMORPG and What can we expect in the near future when everything is ascending towards release.
Community manager Elloa hosts the show, and since it’s the first episode, it’s a good idea to ask the developers questions, with a community Q&A program planned for future episodes.
Pace is intentionally more measured to focus on players being able to have time to interact with the community and not have things move so fast that you’re just clicks away and never really immerse yourself in the community. Even something like a group finder will not only automatically match you instantly, but you’ll be able to send potential team members a notification and communication about group formation.
There’s an emphasis on organic clustering and finding others who might be nearby without just going from one goal to another and without strategizing along the way. More older styles are the inspiration here, with plenty to explore (while encouraging exploration and interaction). “A new, familiar experience in a modern game” is how Elloa sums it up.
