New Trailer for Adrien Brody Movie ‘Clean’ Drops

CLEAN – Still 2

Academy Award Winner Adrien Brody came back in a big way. IFC Films just released a new trailer for the movie Clean, where Brody plays a garbage collector with a troubled past trying to live a simple, violence-free life. Unfortunately, it didn’t go well.

The trailer is dark and creepy and opens with Brody driving around the neighborhood and taking care of a young girl. For a moment there, it seems like this could be one of those slow-motion, redemption stories about finding a new life, but it isn’t.

In the end, Brody is forced back to his previous life, and it’s incredibly clear that he knows his way around a war, as well as what happens after a war ends.

Check out the trailer below.

This is the official summary from the IFC.

Clean, a man with a violent and criminal past, seeks redemption after being awakened by personal tragedy. He dedicates his life to his broken community, and the safety of a young girl, who reminds him of his daughter. When her life is in danger, it leads to a return to the darkness and violence he worked so hard to leave behind. In his attempt to save her, he most likely saved himself.

The film, an official selection of the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival, is directed by Paul Solet and written by Solet and Brody.

Solet said he would love to make a film with complex themes in the press release.

To me, the concept of someone working to create something positive out of the challenges of the past is a powerful and deeply personal subject. I believe we can change, grow and make things right if we make mistakes. And I also believe that to some extent we are who we are, good or bad. That for some, redemption may come only with great sacrifice or not at all.

Brody said the film spoke to his artistic sensibility.

I grew up in New York City. From an early age, I have been affected by the effects of poverty, drugs, and violence on those around me. Although the city has changed, I am still troubled by the prevalence of these problems that today plague our suburbs, emerging rural communities and small towns, as well as like many other parts of our country.

As an artist, my work has been shaped by this perception. I aspire to tell stories that represent those struggling to overcome the brutality of the world.

Clean was born as a tribute to the bravery of those who, despite pain, loss and regret, fought to keep their humanity and overcome the obstacles they faced.

Clean hits theaters and VOD on January 28. In the meantime, you can watch Brody make a cameo in the latest installment of the series. Heir on HBO.
