New PTR World Update adds Winter Convergence Festival

Amazon Game Studios is providing again New world players have the opportunity to get an early test of the game’s upcoming content, thanks to an update towards their public Test Kingdoms.

The first major update to the PTR will include a ton of holiday-themed content, as well as more quests, features, and PvP changes. This PTR update will include Aeternum’s Winter Convergence holiday, which brings snow to unlikely parts of the world and makes the Northern Lights present in the sky above. You’ll find Winter Villages set up on the main territories where you can complete quests to get gifts.

That’s not entirely positive, though, as you’ll see Ice Caves spawning around Aeternum with their unique enemies to confront. You will also have a number of side story quests available in the territories surrounding the Winter Convergence event to complete.

Along with new content, this update has added some major changes to the New World of endgame. High Water Mark has now been renamed specialization, which can be seen in your inventory to help track progress. In addition, Gypsum has been added to the game. This is a resource that can be earned through daily activities and crafted into weapons, armor, or jewels to guarantee a level of expertise.

There’s now a newly added pair of late-game POIs that will present tougher challenges for players with a chance to find elite chests. Evil and the Royal Palace have also increased the difficulty to level 66.

Finally, PTR has now added more rewards for those who use trade skills, and there have been some changes to PvP gameplay. You can see the full list of everything included in this PTR patch here.
