New mountain biking trail in Colorado is not for the faint of heart

Two hours earlier on a crisp September morning, I piled right into a shuttle van in Palisade with 11 different riders, together with my buddy Kurt Casey, 56, and his buddy Yvonne Delahunty, 49, each from Steamboat Springs, Colo. Yvonne, a fiery, pigtailed New Zealander, used to race mountain bikes and stays as expert and fearless as most riders half her age. Kurt, an athletic multisport adventurer, has extra lives than a cat with a genie lamp.
