New Horizons fans engage each villager in giant artwork
A fan paints a picture that includes every villager in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, challenging fans to find their favorite among the crowd.
Released in March 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons became a huge success for Nintendo. As the sequel in the Mule series and for the first time on Nintendo Switch, the game offers players more customization options and sharp visuals due to improved hardware. Among the many reasons that contribute to the success of the title, one major factor is that there are many different villagers.
Are the main inhabitants of the archipelago in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Villagers play an important role in everyday life in the game. They can give gifts to players as well as receive them. Additionally, villagers can send letters, ask players to complete quests for them, and even display items given to them. Moreover, the inhabitants of this island have many different personalities and types of animals. Recently, a player took on the epic task of painting these characters in a unique canvas.
In a Reddit post, a user named Bluesonified shared an artwork based on Animal Crossing: New Horizons. According to the artist, they challenged themselves to draw every villager from the Nintendo Switch game. This is a particularly impressive achievement when the title includes over 400 unique villagers. As a result of the massive artistic scale, the visuals are beloved in the series while also giving space to lesser known characters. To accomplish this monumental task, the artist decided to paint the picture in a style similar to that seen in the wimmelbook, also known as the hidden picture book. This type of drawing challenges observers to spot their favorite villagers from the midst of a sea of objects.
This impressive drawing done by Bluesonified has attracted the attention of many members Animal Crossing: New Horizons community on Reddit. With over 700 upvotes in just a few hours, many fans were impressed by the level of detail displayed in the artwork. Some people commented that they like to find their favorite villagers in the crowded picture. Some of the characters the player finds include Celeste, Eunice, Nibbles, and Hopkins. One Reddit user liked this image so much that they even set it as a screensaver on their phone.
This is just one of many different artworks designed by members of Animal Crossing: New Horizons community. Another fan recently made a Detailed sculpture of a Gyroid from the game. With the Happy Home Paradise DLC now available, it will be interesting to see players come up with even more creations based on the series.
