New Horizons Fan Show Off Custom Crochet Bob Doll
Bob the cat received a new look after a talented fan of Animal Crossing: New Horizons created a custom knitted doll based on the iconic villager.
After its release in March 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons It quickly became one of the best-selling games on the Nintendo Switch. Although there are many reasons for its success, one important factor is large number of villagers including in the game. Among the animal inhabitants, one of the most fascinating is Bob.
Appear in every Mule game, Bob is the first villager designed for the series. He is a lavender cat with dark purple spots on his body. In addition to his recognizable appearance, he is also known for his lazy personality. Recently, a talented gamer decided to recreate this character in real life.
In a Reddit post, a user named ConstanzaL shared an image of a villager from Animal Crossing: New Horizons which they crocheted recently. In the image, it is revealed that the creator decided to emulate what Bob, the lazy cat, would love as a crochet doll. Impressively, the doll has a distinctive lavender color with triangular ears identical to the cat in the game. In addition, the artist gave the villagers a pink shirt with flowers on the front. Perfecting the design, they even gave Bob the same classic expression as the game character.
Besides showcasing the artwork in a painting, ConstanzaL provided some insight into the making of the crochet doll. According to the Reddit user, they created their own template for the design and used Poly-fil to stuff it inside the doll. In addition, they revealed that the cat’s eyes and mouth were made of metal. When all was said and done, it took 3 days for them to complete the project.
