New Horizons Clip shows the player punishing the average villager

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, in essence, is a fairly peaceful game to play. However, just like real life, sometimes frustration and conflict can arise between people and it is not always welcome for players.

A recent case has seen two Animal Crossing: New Horizons The villagers argued with each other. When spotted by the player character, they decide they’ve had enough and choose to ‘punish’ the animals.

VIDEO GAME OF THE DAY

As shared by ArtemisVG, a short video was watched revealing that Diana, snooty white deer, and Toby, the smug rabbit, is having a disagreement right next to a tree. Saying they would ‘learn a lesson,’ ArtemisVG stood on the other side of the tree and began hitting it with an ax. Suddenly, a hive falls out of the tree, alerting both Diana and Toby as the swarm of bees begin to fly overhead. However, ArtemisVG wasn’t done yet, continuing to hit the tree hard until it fell on them.

Controversies between animal villagers can often be resolved peacefully, either by letting the fight run its course or by directly intervening. Of course, after witnessing an excessive fight between villagers, players can become irritated by it. ArtemisVG notes in the comments that, of course, the bees actually turned them on and attacked them after the video ended, but with the way it was cut, it made it seem like punishment in the form of New horizons‘angry wasp’ descended upon two villagers who could not get along.

The comments seem to be mostly amused at the sight of sharing unpleasant moments before similar events are taking place on their own islands. While Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a pacifist game, there are a lot of times when players vent their frustrations into it, by doing things like planting traps or have the purpose of harassing villagers they don’t want in their paradise island. These antics don’t really do anything but relieve the player’s stress and annoy the animal villagers, as there’s no direct way to get the villagers to leave town. But of course, that doesn’t stop players from trying.

Thankfully, it seems most players are more charmed by their animal villagers than annoyed by them. Many fanart and craft projects have been created to honor villagers like Raymond and Isabelle. Appreciation for the series doesn’t end there, with sitting on a frog chair in real life and DIY bottles are even carefully made by fans. But in times like this, players will sometimes get frustrated, even when it’s aimed at their favorites.
