It’s finally here! This Wednesday marks the premiere of Marvel’s Hawk Eye, with the first two episodes of the MCU’s newest TV series debuting on Disney Plus. To mark the big day, Marvel Studios has released an extra feature-length installment of the show, focusing on how far the famous vengeful archer has come in the franchise so far. Check out the ad, which features Jeremy Renner reflecting on his Marvel career, in the tweet below.

“Clint Barton was one of the original six Avengers and because of this Hawk Eye show, we can share all about who Clint Barton is in a very entertaining way,” teased Renner, while director Rhys Thomas summed up what sets Clint apart from the rest of Heroes. Earth’s strongest. Thomas describes him as “a very ordinary guy” motivated by a “sense of duty” to do what’s right instead of being endowed with super powers.

Reality producer Brad Winderbaum went on to emphasize that Clint has “always been the human face of the Avengers” and argued that there’s a lot about him that “parallels people’s real life experiences.” EP curator Trinh Tran added that Renner wanted to find the “truth” of his character and, after playing him for a decade, he knew Clint “from the inside out”. Speaking of the man himself, Renner rounded up the character by hinting that his MCU journey isn’t over yet. He concluded: “I’m happy to see where it goes.

Although this ad has a nostalgic view, Hawk Eye it’s pretty futuristic thinking in itself as the first two episodes introduce a series of main new characters into space, including Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate BishopClint’s Guardian. We know to expect more from her in the MCU, but will her idol and mentor return as well, as Renner seems to be suggesting? Looks like we’ll have to keep watching Hawk Eye heart out.
