Merry Witchmas! Only a few days left until the release of Part 2 of The Witcher, Netflix took to Twitter to gradually reveal additional previews of the show.
Titled “Witchmas,” the week-long preview event will give viewers a glimpse of upcoming events in the new season – including a scene where Ciri begins her witch training. The clip reveals her transformation from the books, showing Ciri’s growth from princess to witch.

Posted by Netflix The Witcher Twitter for Day 2 of “Witchmas,” this new season 2 scene provides a closer look at the beginning of Ciri’s journey at Kaer Morhen. Atop a seemingly precarious balancing beam, Ciri managed to avoid the beams that were swinging in front of her.
Interestingly, her training supervisor is not Geralt or Vesemir, but Lambert and Coën. These two wolf witches also reside in Kaer Morhen, and seem to be more related to Ciri’s journey in the show.
After being knocked down repeatedly, Ciri gritted her teeth and ran the gauntlet once more. With tough determination and quick wits, Ciri showed the witches why she was called Cintra’s Cub Lion.
For now, the clip shows the main difference between the book-Ciri and the TV show-Ciri. In the original stories, the sorceresses encourage Ciri to keep training, no matter how she falls, to help her conquer her fear of pain and failure. Here, it seems that Ciri focuses on deeper determination, choosing to carry on despite the witches telling her to take a break.
Accordingly, this suggests that season 2 will focus more on Ciri developing her self-determination and will. After a season on the run in despair and tragic loss, Ciri will eventually begin to develop into a truly formidable force.
