HARTFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) — Beer breweries in Connecticut are cheering a brand new tax lower.
Gov. Ned Lamont introduced the brand new state price range reduces beer taxes by 16.7%.
“Simply to make us extra aggressive with different breweries and different beer across the area. That’s what we’re making an attempt to do as we be sure Connecticut is in the perfect place to compete. I believe it’s working. There’s properly over 100 breweries which have been created within the final 10 years or so on this state,” Lamont mentioned.
A report launched in Could confirmed Connecticut breweries added $2.9 billion to the state’s economic system and supported practically 18,000 jobs.
The tax lower takes impact in July of 2023.
