Natus Vincere conquered the BLAST Premier Fall Final Final title against Vitality in front of a huge live audience at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark today.
CIS Powerhouse — home of Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, the best CS GO players around the world—have had a string of hot days since July. They won IEM Cologne that month, ESL Pro League season 14 and Intel Grand Slam season three in September, and most notably the PGL Stockholm Major earlier this month. Today’s victory makes a strong argument to begin calling this period “the Na’Vi era.”
The grand finale started with Mirage, Vitality’s map pick, but it was Na’Vi who started the game, winning the first 5 games of the map and opening the match. Team CIS won Mirage 16-12 and are expected to close the series on Nuke – their special pick and a match where they have a 20-map winning streak.
Vitality, however, shows their best when they lean back against the wall. Team France set the pace of the map from the start and took Na’Vi 16-6 without giving them too many chances to win. The action goes to the decider, Inferno and Na’Vi show once again why they are the best CS GO team at this time. They have a near-perfect CT side (12-3) and, with plenty of opportunities to work in the second half, it was only a matter of time before s1mple and crew closed it with a 16- 7.
S1mple deservedly received the MVP of the award. He was Na’Vi’s best player of the entire series (76-46 K/D) and, despite Vitality superstar Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut’s best efforts against him, who Ukraine was almost unstoppable – especially on Mirage, he finished with 36 dead and just 16 dead.
With the title of BLAST Premier Fall Final, Na’Vi secures a $225,000 prize pool, while Vitality will take home $85,000.
