Nas X and Coldplay withdraw from Jingle Ball 2021 due to COVID + Crews

We received news that there have been some cancellations of the upcoming Jingle Ball 2021 tour following the unfortunate revelations that crew members gave both of them. Lil Nas X and Coldplay tested positive for coronavirus.
Both of the aforementioned scandalous acts have now completely withdrawn from the tour, Deadline report.
The development is no doubt a blow to the multi-city annual event produced by iHeartRadio after it just returned live for the first time since last year’s virtual edition made to counter response to the initial pandemic outbreak in 2020.
Lil Nas X just performed Friday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City for the tour, but he will no longer appear at any other events. Coldplay’s scheduled appearances on Saturday and Sunday nights at the O2 Arena in London were also cancelled.
Despite the cancellation, the show will continue for other repertoire, as it has been. The revised lineup will include Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran playing the expansion sets, as well as ArrDee and Tom Grennan being added to the bill in lieu of Nas X and Coldplay at the event in London.
Earlier this week, Doja Cat also had to cancel her appearances on tour in New York City and Boston this weekend due to some of her crew also testing positive for COVID- 19.
Sadly, these developments are perhaps an indication that the complexities surrounding hosting live events amid the ongoing pandemic are far from over.
