Nancy Pelosi blocks Donald Trump allies from Capitol riot committee
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has turned down two Republicans selected by House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy to serve on a newly created committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riots.
In a statement Wednesday, Pelosi said she would not accept the appointments of Representative Jim Banks of Indiana or Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio. Bank and Jordan are close allies of the former President Tổng Donald Trump.
‘With respect to the integrity of the investigation, with a steadfastness to the facts, and with concerns about these members’ statements and actions, I must reject the proposals of the Bank and Jordan Representatives. to the Selection Committee,’ Pelosi announced.
