A focused rocket assault on the Kabul airport in Afghanistan was thwarted Sunday evening, in response to a navy protection official.

Fox Information correspondent Jennifer Griffin additionally reported that the counter rocket, artillery and mortar system responded to the assault.

“Jen Psaki, the White Home press secretary, stated high aides have briefed President [Joe] Biden on the event, together with Jake Sullivan, his nationwide safety adviser,” Fox News reported.

The Islamic State group reportedly claimed it was behind the rocket assault.

The bombing occurred the day after a State Division warning of a “particular, credible risk.”

The Biden administration continues to deal with wrapping up evacuations from Afghanistan by Tuesday.
As of Saturday, roughly 4,000 U.S. navy troops remained within the nation. Roughly 1,000 civilians remained on the airport on Sunday, in response to The Jerusalem Post.
