City manager Jim Puffalt said it was an exciting moment for a city that has long considered climate action.

Puffalt told Global News: “We’ve just been pumped that this is happening and we’re leading and doing something for our climate.

The city is expected to drop $170,000 in their utility panels each year thanks to solar panels. The panels will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 829 tons per year.
