Who’s playing?
Louisville @ Mississippi State
Current record: Louisville 3-1; Mississippi State 4-0
What to know
The Mississippi State Bulldog team will play the Louisville Cardinals at 9:30 p.m. ET on Thursday at the Baha Mar Convention Center. MSU clinched a 79-56 win in their most recent competition against U of L in March 2018.
Things went the Bulldogs’ way against the Morehead State Eagles on Sunday as they won 66-46. Four players in MSU have scored in double digits: defending Iverson Molinar (15), forward DJ Jeffries (13), guard Shakeel Moore (13) and forward Garrison Brooks (11).
Meanwhile, even if it wasn’t a dominant performance, the U of L beat the Detroit Titans 73-67 on Saturday. Guard Dre Davis and forward Malik Williams was one of the main players for U of L as the former had 18 points with nine goals and the latter had 11 points and nine rebounds.
Without any buzzer beaters, MSU is expected to win a tight contest. They have been consistent earners against spreads in favor (3-1), so they might be worth a quick bet.
Their win lifted the Bulldogs to 4-0 and the Cardinals to 3-1. In their victory, MSU mainly relied on Iverson Molinar, who had 15 points and six assists along with seven rebounds. L’s U will need to find a way to minimize their impact if they want to win.
