‘Misfits’ by Michaela Coel book review

It seems like a narrative of triumph: how Coel succeeded regardless of odds, the underdog story we usually reserve for sports activities biopics or an episode of “Ellen.” However Coel weaves the ache from racism, loneliness, overt sexualization and assault into each line and each accomplishment. On one hand, you wish to cheer Coel on, hail her because the success she is. However on the opposite, the extra profitable she will get, the extra horror she endures. But her story isn’t nearly surviving success, it’s about surviving.
