Almost six years have passed since Mirror’s Edge Catalyst released and players are still wondering if there will be a new game in the franchise. Will Mirror’s Edge 3 Is it a sequel or a prequel? Could it be a completely different story or an alternative reboot? There are a few questions players need answers to, and we’re here to provide an update on the Mirror’s Edge 3 release date.

Is there a Mirror’s Edge 3 release date?

The Mirror’s Edge 3 release date has yet to be announced.

There is a chance that Mirror’s Edge 3 could be released in the future on PS5, PS4, PC and Xbox platforms. EA doesn’t seem to be shutting down or canceling Mirror’s Edge IP. While sales of the original Mirror’s Edge on PS3, PC, and Xbox 360 were disappointing in 2009, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst was not considered a failure with selling enough games to turn a profit. The franchise’s website is still active, and the companion app is still active.

Will there be a Mirror’s Edge game/sequel?

A sequel is likely, although the previous Mirror’s Edge 2 was canceled in 2011 after early prototypes failed. However, since then Mirror’s Edge Catalyst was released in 2016 on PS4, PC and Xbox One as a prequel to Mirror’s Edge, focusing on the origins of protagonist Faith. Mirror’s Edge 3 could be a sequel, reboot, or even a whole new storyline.

However, previous teases on EA’s Twitter account have since been dropped, and a new Mirror’s Edge game doesn’t seem to be a priority right now. Potential teasing has finally arrived EA France’s Twitter account in April 2021 although that was soon dropped. At the time, the publisher said “If one day we tease something, you’ll know right away, don’t worry!”
