A number of Minecraft fans have gathered on Reddit to discuss which aspects of the game they would like to see removed.
Minecraft is an incredibly popular title with a still active fan base. The game was released over a decade ago but is still supported and played to this day. Minecraft has maintained its popularity, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to wane anytime soon, especially as the title continues to add new content such as: Minecraft’s Minions DLC.
Despite being so popular, there are aspects of Minecraft which some players would like to see gone. There are things in the game that annoy fans, proving their experience of the title a major inconvenience. Minecraft may have many features loved by those who play it, but there are still things that could be adjusted.
On Reddit, a user named Pencilchatwastaken posted a question about what players would like to see removed Minecraft. One of the main things fans would like to see changed is the reporting system Minecraft for which Mojang has received backlash. Many players dislike the fact that they can be banned for using words deemed inappropriate on private servers as well as on paid realms. Another feature fans want to change is the level cap for anvils, which prevents players from keeping an item permanently as they can no longer repair it if the cost gets too high. The third important aspect that players would like to see changed or removed are phantoms. Considered a major nuisance by many, the mob is one of the most important components of the game that players want to see go away.
There have also been a few minor complaints from Redditors. These included poisonous potatoes and the game’s marketplace. One user mentioned the bat mobs as they think they are only good for triggering screeches. Another said silverfish, which again was because the mob was annoying. The paper showed that there are a number of important issues with aspects of Minecraft which many would like to see changed to improve their experience.
Despite the things many players would like to see changed Minecraft, there are some who are tackling amazing ongoing projects. A YouTuber named Minthical recently streamed himself playing the game and showing the progress he’s made trying to take down a completely Minecraft Map and dissect it down to bedrock level. The player has now been at it for five years and hopes to complete his quest by September. It is estimated that it takes 47 million blocks to be mined to completely erase a card, and last December the YouTuber had mined around 38 million blocks. It is a monumental task and very impressive that Minthical has come this far.
Minecraft is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
