Minecraft players collect a year’s worth of XP in one fell swoop

A Minecraft A fan uploaded a video of him growing XP for a year at once thanks to cacti and a blast furnace. A video game perfect for quelling boredom, Mojang’s open-world sandbox title is packed with content and activities that give players the opportunity to unleash their creative potential. Along the way, whether through crafting or exploring, experience points can be earned that can be used to enchant items, and there are many ways to earn them.
Pretty much all players farm for XP in Minecraft, whether they want it or not. It can be earned by mining certain ores, killing enemies, raising animals, defeating bosses, or even spending some relaxing time fishing, and countless other ways. Over the course of an average playthrough, earning a lot of XP can be a long process, and dying will reset players to zero. However, one fan has shown that it is possible to gain a lot of experience points at once, although even this requires a lot of patience.
As seen by PCGamesN, Reddit user JustinTimeCuber shared a clip of himself playing a game Minecraft like normal. Initially, they can be seen approaching a row of ovens, one of which has a sign that reads “DO NOT TOUCH until 21 September 2022.” Then they drop their items and stand on lava until they die. Upon respawn, approach one of the ovens and pull a lever. Once they do, their XP bar will start to skyrocket, reaching level 226 within seconds. Apparently, that equates to 196,000 little green experience orbs, all collected in about eight seconds.
The user was able to achieve this by melting cacti in an oven, which creates green dye Minecraft and grants XP upon gathering. JustinTimeCuber didn’t jump right into the dye, however, and instead spent a year continually adding cacti to the oven. Once they flipped the switch, it released a year’s worth of XP and a ton of green paint all at once. Many would agree that the video is very pleasing to the eye.
Minecraft is truly a game with almost infinite replayability. After more than a decade, the community never seems to get tired, with so many fans reaching out to show off their projects, ideas, and discoveries. Spending a year building up XP takes some dedication, and it will be interesting to see what other playthroughs players demonstrate next.
Minecraft is now available on Mobile, PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
