Microsoft recruits Certain Affinity to help with Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite is a perfectly fast innovation of the Halo franchise. The game features an exciting and expansive campaign and well-tuned multiplayer, in a package reminiscent of Xbox Live’s Halcyon days and the sound of electric shields charging. Adding new content to its excellent but fraught multiplayer mode has also been slow, but help seems to be coming in the form of Austin studio Most Affinity, the company that was hired to support 343 Industries“grow more” Halo Infinite. ”

The news came via brief posts on certain pages about the relationship, which noted that the studio would “deepen our relationship with 343.” Founded in 2006 by Max Hoberman, who served as the multiplayer and online curator for the Halo series.

Certain Affinity’s hiring seems to be in line with recent comments from 343 about Halo developers’ expanding efforts to meet the demand for faster updates and faster-paced content. Responding to fans on Reddit, Brian Jarrard, community director at 343, spoke quite candidly about the “challenges and difficulties” the studio is facing in supporting Infinite.

We’re certainly not happy that we weren’t able to meet the expectations of our players and the community, it’s a difficult situation that the team will need time to work through. For now, the focus is on S2 and we’ll have more to share about that in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, a lot of production planning, costing, scheduling, hiring, etc. is going on that doesn’t really match up with regular detailed updates. We understand that the community is simply running out of patience and to be honest, I think they get tired of wordy understandably. We just need a little time for the team to sort out the details and then we can definitely share as much as we can.

After the exciting debut, the conversation around Halo Infinite has largely let the community down with a lack of new content and an unsatisfying seasonal model. These frustrations were compounded by the decision to repeatedly delay major features like campaign co-op and the Forge map editor, and outages extending outside of full multiplayer. .

Receive Infinite getting up to speed will be a long and slow task for 343 and its partners, but the studio is positioning the upcoming Season 2 – titled Lone Wolves – as the first small step, with two new maps, a mode New multiplayer and a bunch of tweaks.

Halo Infinite Season 2 premieres on May 3.
