Microsoft Edge Beta build 97 now available for download (Changelog)

Microsoft today released Microsoft Edge Beta Build 97.0.1072.21 as part of their 4-week regular update cycle.

The Beta channel is considered the most stable preview channel, releasing only features that have been well tested in the Canary and Dev versions of the browser. The last major release was on September 28th, with many smaller fixes since.

Microsoft Edge Beta Build 97.0.1072.21 brings the following new features and improvements:

• Use existing profiles to sign in to websites when multiple work or school accounts are signed in to one device. When multiple work or school accounts are signed in to one device, users will be asked to select one from the account selector to continue accessing their websites. In this release, users will be prompted to allow Microsoft Edge to automatically sign in to websites with work and school accounts signed in to the current profile. User can enable and disable this feature in Settings / Profile Options.
• Added support for Microsoft Endpoint Data Loss Prevention (DLP) on MacOS. Microsoft Endpoint DLP policy enforcement is available on MacOS.
• Open a digitally signed PDF file. Electronic signatures are widely used to confirm the authenticity of and changes to a document. Users will be able to validate signatures for PDF files directly from the browser without any plug-ins.
• Citations in Microsoft Edge. Citing sources for research is a common request for students. They have to manage multiple sources and research references, which is no easy task. They must also translate these citations into appropriate citation formats such as APA, MLA, and Chicago. This new “Citation” feature in Microsoft Edge (now available in Preview) gives students a better way to manage and create citations as they research online. With Quotes enabled in Collections or from Settings and more (Alt-F), Microsoft Edge automatically generates citations that students can use later so they can focus on their research.
