Michael Pachter thinks Sony E3 Strategy is ‘really stupid’

Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter thinks anyone is advising Sony that it should continue to ignore it E3 is “very stupid” and the company is implementing a “really stupid strategy” by following their advice.

During a recent episode of Pachter Factor, Pachter said that Sony is making “a major strategic mistake in abandoning E3” because there is clearly no sensible alternative for the company to spend its savings.

I think Sony is going in the wrong direction. I think they’re making a big strategic mistake by dropping E3. I think it’s just the wrong thing to do, and I hope that they figure it out and they come back next year. Someone convinced them they would save $20 million by skipping E3, and this year’s E3 was probably a prudent decision. They also ignore the previous one. And I think that’s just a bad move. Really stupid strategy because you can’t buy a lot of press for $20 million. Organizing an event and getting all your fans to focus on that single event is really, really powerful, and I think anyone who advises their management that skipping E3 is an incentive The cost-conscious and smart attitude is wrong. They are stupid.

Pachter concluded that Sony would be the “biggest loser” in this scenario as he sees E3 as the perfect event for companies to showcase their products.

Recent reports suggest that Sony is potentially skip the upcoming game chơi also. Although there is no official confirmation of this, the company does not appear on the list of attendees of gamescom.
