Mercenary mode may return in Resident Evil 4 VR as a free update

Fans of Resident Evil The franchise has become quite familiar with the Mercenaries mode, a bonus arcade-like minigame that has been around for the most part since. Resident Evil 3. This minigame usually requires the player to build a high score by running around the map and killing as many enemies as possible before time runs out. This mode became quite popular among fans, to the point that Capcom released it an indie game entirely focused on the Mercenary game back in 2011. Because of this, some may have felt that the lack of Mercenary mode in the newly released version Resident Evil 4 VR appeared like a missed opportunity, especially since the original Resident Evil 4 only one. But it seems Resident Evil 4 VR Will receive mercenary mode after all, as a newly discovered trailer advertised the feature.

Ahead of schedule

Interestingly, the Oculus YouTube channel seems to have posted this new trailer before it wanted to, as it labeled the video as private shortly after. That doesn’t stop Resident Evil-central site Classified Biohazard from keeping the trailer before it goes private and posting it on its own YouTube channel.

The trailer itself doesn’t reveal much about the new Mercenary mode. It only shows the standard gameplay scene, as well as some prizes from different stores. However, the trailer has revealed that the mode will arrive next year as a free update to Oculus Quest 2, or “Meta Quest 2”, as it is now called unfortunately. Experience lovers Resident Evil 4 in VR is probably going to be great when the Lost Mercenary mode finally arrives in this version of the game. However, it’s still uncertain how long it will take for Capcom to introduce gameplay footage for the mode, so fans will have to be patient until then.
