Megan Fox put down the bubbly after having a bit too much at 2009 Golden Globes — leading her to make “belligerent” comments on the red carpet.
The actress, 35, said she went through “multiple glasses” of Moët & Chandon at the notoriously boozy event, where she says she was seated with Blake Lively and all three Jonas Brothers.
“Now I don’t drink, and this is why: I was belligerent and said a bunch of s–t I shouldn’t have said on the red carpet after that,” the “Midnight in the Switchgrass” star said in an interview with Who What Wear. “I think I got in a lot of trouble for whatever I said on the red carpet at this event.”
“I don’t remember why, but I know I did. You can look that up,” the actress added.
Before heading into the Globes that year, Fox gave an interview to E!’s Giuliana Rancic, so it’s unclear if that’s the “belligerent” chat she was talking about.
She spoke to Rancic about feeling insecure and said, “I really want her boobs,” when she spied Salma Hayek.
When Rancic called Fox “one of the hottest women in the business right now,” the actress made a joke that she’s “a doppelgänger for Alan Alda” before adding, “I’m a man.”
She went on to declare how “painfully insecure” she was, adding, ” I’m on the verge of vomiting right now. I’m so horrified that I’m here.”
When asked if her then-boyfriend, Brian Austin Green, was there, she told Rancic, “He doesn’t want to be my date. He’s a man — he has an ego. I think he’s probably working on music; I don’t think he cares [about watching the show].”
Fox and Green married the following year, but split May 2020, with Fox officially filing for divorce in November.
The beauty also mentioned having a “22-inch waist” that she “starved” herself to achieve, before adding, “I’m kidding. I did a lot of Pilates. An immense amount of Pilates.”
