Meet the 63-year-old CS:GO player who participates in tournaments and supports NAVI

There is no age associated with gaming, especially when it comes to a classic shooter like CS:GO. A 63-year-old player from Ukraine, Oleg, is breaking the stereotype that competitive gaming is useless and an activity that can only be enjoyed by the younger generation.
NAVI fans have been actively playing the game for more than three years now not only as another CS:GO player, but also compete in tournaments with his team – Ageless Shooters, where all the players are are over 60 years old.
In a recent interview with the YouTube channel TUT.BY, Oleg shared about his experience in CS:GO, how he started playing the game, his time with the team, and the benefits of playing at his age.

Oleg is 63 years old, graduated from the Medical Academy, served in the Navy as a military doctor. At the time he was new to CS:GO. He was then introduced to the game when his children were in their teens. Now he is part of a team called ‘Ageless Shooters’ that he travels around to compete in tournaments.
Speaking of how he started playing the game, Oleg said,
As for how he joined the CS:GO senior citizen team, Oleg said that in 2019 he received a notice that anyone who wanted to compete on an eSports team could submit an application. their registration.
Originally from the military, it was difficult for Oleg to target in the game at first as he was used to iron aiming. During his two-month training, he learned to aim using a digital crosshair and has continued to grow day by day.
In the interview, he revealed that in the past 90 days (three months) he played 218 matches, of which he won 117 matches, lost 86 matches and drew the remaining 15 matches.
For all those who think gaming is just a waste of time and nothing good will come of it, Oleg went on to say,
Playing CS:GO has helped Oleg interact better with his children, helping him connect with them virtual while enjoying the game together. He personally feels that playing the game has helped him develop his micro-motor skills, imagination and memory, which are likely to decline with age. In addition, it has also helped him develop and become fluent in new computer terms and technologies.
While there are many advantages, the only negative he can think of is the amount of time it takes to learn and master CS:GO.
Oleg concluded his interview by making the following statement,
