Matthew Michanowicz sentenced to probation for planting bombs at Pittsburgh rally

Federal prosecutors said in court documents police found the bombs the next morning, quickly tracked down Michanowicz as a suspect and arrested him. He was charged with unlawful possession of three destructive devices, which he confessed in August. On Monday, facing a 10-year prison sentence, Michanowicz, 53, avoided more time behind bars, instead serving a sentence and three years of probation. He served the first six months of his sentence under house arrest.
