Matrix is said to receive “Unreal Engine 5 experience”
According to a Reddit user on GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, PlayStation 5 players will soon experience “Unreal 5” based on the Strange Matrix.
Unfortunately aside from the name “The Matrix Awakens” and the tagline that it’s a “Experience 5 is not real, ”Not really a lot of information, as that’s the only information Reddit user the_andshrew found when learning about the PlayStation Network backend.
Given the name, it’s clear the experience is being worked on alongside the new The Matrix Resurrections movie, which is set to hit cinemas on December 22, so we’ll likely know more about it. this experience before that time.
Given the timing and lack of any prior notice, we didn’t expect the experience to be a full game in the slightest. What I imagine most we can hope for is a lightly-reviewed ad that showcases some cool tech from Epic’s Unreal Engine 5.
With Game Award by Geoff Keighley Coming up in December, we can only hope that we can learn more about this mysterious experience, but for now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
