Like a swarm of grasshoppers working with tactical precision, a mob of robbers ransacked a California department store on Saturday night.
About 80 people flooded a Nordstrom store in Walnut Creek, just outside of San Francisco, police said NBC
The attack on the store took place just before closing time at 9pm.
As looters ravaged the store, one employee was pepper sprayed and two others punched and kicked, police said. All three were treated at the scene.
“About 25 cars just blocked the road and rammed into Walnut Creek Nordstrom to clear the load before getting in the car and driving away. At least two people were arrested with guns,” a local reporter tweeted.

Walnut Creek Police, Lieutenant Ryan Hibbs told KPIX-TV that three people were arrested.
Hibbs said the two were arrest in a getaway car. A man was charged with robbery, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of theft tools. A woman traveling with him was arrested for illegally possessing a firearm.

A third person was caught running from the scene, Hibbs said. He was charged with robbery, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Brett Barrett, manager at PF Chang’s across from Nordstrom shop descibed scene.
“I probably saw 50-80 people like ski masks with crowbars, a bunch of weapons,” he told KPIX. “They looted Nordstrom.”
“There were a lot of people,” he said. “The police are flying in. It’s like a scene from a movie. Is crazy “.
Barrett told the station he’s worried about people eating at his restaurants.
“I have to start locking the front door,” he said. “Locking the back door. You never know, they could be right in here. It’s crazy… All the guests inside were nervous. It was a terrifying sight for a moment.”
The Walnut Creek looting occurred the day after a looting in San Francisco’s Union Square.

High-end retailers including Yves Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton were among the stores looted and vandalized. Jins Eyewear, Bloomingdale’s and Burberry were also looted, according to Chronicles of San Francisco.
