Kraven the Hunter chose its villain. While Kit Harington looks like he’s in MCU over the eternalChristopher Abbott has been tapped for a key role in Sony’s expansions in the Marvel franchise. Deadline reports that Abbott will play The Foreigner alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, The Hunter (aka Kraven).
Although he does not face any There is no way home hero, The Foreigner has notably confronted Spidey in several comics. This time, however, he’ll appear with one of Marvel’s iconic anti-heroes, Kraven, who has battled Venom, Black Panther, and even Spider-Man. Taylor-Johnson and Abbott will star alongside Academy Award nominee Ariana DeBose, Alessandro Nivola, Fred Hechinger, and Marvel BFF Russell Crowe. Just last week, Nivola was cast as an unsung villain in the movie – Kraven has a lot of vices on his plate. JC Chandor will direct the script from Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk.

Sony has thrived on their Marvel content after the huge success of both Venom movies (even getting them to guest-star in the MCU with There is no way home). (But, let’s face it, they still have a long way to go from Batman sad emoji.)
Kraven the Hunter is scheduled to hit theaters on January 13, 2023.
