Marvel wins big at People’s Choice Awards

Marvel have dominated film and television over the years and their success doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon as fans have a say at this year’s People’s Choice Awards.

Marvel had an epic release year with four movies and five TV series including Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Eternals, WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What if…?, Hawk Eye, and Spider-Man: There’s no way home will be released in just a few weeks.

With all of this content, Marvel fans had plenty of voting rights, and they made sure their voices were heard. Here are the awards that Marvel took home for this year.

Movie 2021 – Black Widow

Black Widow is the first film to be released this year and follows the life of Natasha Romanoff before the events of the year. Avengers: Endgame. Even if the Covid-19 pandemic prevented some moviegoers from going to theaters, it still grossed $379 million.

With 91% of the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s no surprise that this Marvel movie beats movies like Sand dunes and There’s no time to die to take the top spot.

Action movie 2021 – Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi’s its introduction into the Marvel Universe has been a huge success, which has now been rewarded with critical acclaim. The film grossed a massive $431 million and audiences immediately fell in love with star actor Simu Liu.

The Show of 2021 – Loki

Everyone’s favorite mischievous villain turned hero took the top spot and fueled popular shows like Cobra Kai and Grey’s Anatomy. The show is significant to the Marvel Universe and introduces the multiverse and villain Kang the Conqueror, who is sure to return soon.

Female movie star of the year 2021 – Scarlett Johansson

Johansson has been one of the longest-running Marvel stars with her introduction to the Marvel universe over a decade ago in 2010 for Iron Man 2. Fans have adored the actress throughout her career and her honest portrayal of Black Widow has been a strong contributing factor. This should come as no surprise as the actress is nominated for two Academy Awards in 2020, one for best actress in a series. Marriage Story and then another award for best supporting actress in Jojo Rabbit.

Action movie star of 2021 – Simu Liu

Liu has been active for many years but has moved relatively under the radar until its release Shang-Chi make him a star. It’s no surprise that fans love him because he’s very active on Twitter and isn’t afraid to interact with his supporters. Fans also felt they could relate to him, especially when he posted about how he hugged Tom Hiddleston.

Male TV star in 2021 – Tom Hiddleston

Naughty God He didn’t need to use any tricks to win this prize. Since first being introduced as Loki in 2011 God of thunder Movie fans have fallen in love with his kind heart and charming smile. Assuming that Thanos killed Loki at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War, fans were worried they would never see Hiddleston become an iconic character again, but with the launch of the multiverse, fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Releasing his own show is a dream come true for many, and here’s the hope Hiddleston will grace our screens for years to come.
