Marvel: The Most Sympathetic Spider-Man Villains

As one of the most famous superheroes of all time, Spiderman had his fair share of villains. Some appear only a few times before disappearing, but others have existed for a long time. Spider-Man’s most famous villain group is the Sinister Six, but not all of them are as bad as fans think.

Technically, Peter’s boss and Spider-Man’s arch-nemesis, J. Jonah Jameson is not a typical villain. But in Spider-Man’s eyes, he sometimes acts like that. Jameson vehemently criticized Spider-Man and blamed him for things that weren’t his fault. He also portrays Spider-Man as a villain and sometimes makes people believe it.

On the other hand, Jameson is shown to be a very human and caring person for his son. He also defended Peter when the Green Goblin questioned Jameson about who took the picture of Spider-Man.

Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, is a thief who dumps Peter Parker because she prefers Spider-Man. Except her character is much more than that. Felicia and Peter teamed up several times to fight together when they faced a greater threat.

In the end, Silver Sable is often considered a good guy despite her methods. After the tragic loss of her mother when she was very young, she has dedicated her life to catching international criminals so they don’t cause any more damage.

Michael Keaton as Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and thanks to Keaton’s charisma, Adrian Toomes is not considered a villain despite the fact that he nearly killed Spider-Man. Toomes only turned to a life of crime when he lost his job and had to take care of his family.

He’s willing to let Spider-Man stay when he realizes who the masked hero is and finds that his daughter Liz likes Peter. Overall, Vulture’s actions are mostly motivated by love, unlike some of the other villains, who are just plain evil.

Spider-Man 3 (2007) wasn’t the best Spider-Man movie because of the plethora of villains and the questionable portrayal of Venom. However, Flint Marko, aka Sandman, still manages to be an empath in the film.

Just like Vulture, Sandman is motivated primarily by a love for his family, specifically his child. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t accomplish what he set out to do but at least he ended up helping Spider-Man, proving that he’s not such a bad person.
