Mariah Carey on Beyoncé when pressed about a potential Verzuz battle: I admire her so much as a performer for what she has accomplished for the world

Maybe a Verzuz battle between Beyoncé and Mariah Carey are on the horizon?

As previously reported, profile executive LA Reid recently stated that he is interested in seeing Beyoncé and Mariah Carey confrontation on the Verzuz stage. He specifically made his comments when appearing on Truth earlier this month, stated:

“Mariah Carey vs Beyoncé! Bey is the queen, isn’t she? We know Bey is the queen. But sometimes Mariah can be a little underappreciated in terms of how long her career has lasted, how many hits she has, and how much she practically owns Christmas.”

While many people deny LA Reidhint of just a mere fantasy, Mariah Carey settled speculation yesterday (Wednesday, December 15). In an interview with E!, the iconic singer was questioned about Verzuz’s idea. In response, she expressed her gratitude towards Beyoncé:

“I love Beyoncé and I admire her so much as a performer of what she has done for the world and everything else.”

When pressed further on whether she’s ready to be Verzuz, she said:

“I have no respect for myself and I’m not going to do it, because it’s Christmas time.”

Although it’s not entirely clear if the artists will go head-to-head in a Verzuz battle, it seems Mariah Carey nothing but love and admiration for the singer “The Partition”!

These comments come from the following Beyoncé do Forbes‘ “100 Most Powerful Women in the World” list. The Houston-born girl in particular is listed at number 76 on the list, and she’s joined by other familiar faces like Oprah Winfrey and Rihanna (#23 and #68, respectively).
