Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo says one of his newborn twins has passed away

MANCHESTER, England – Cristiano Ronaldo took to social media on Monday to announce that one of his newborn twins has passed away.

“It is with our deepest sadness we must announce that our boy has passed away,” the Manchester United forward wrote in a post also signed by his life partner, Georgina Rodriguez.

“It’s the biggest pain any parent can feel.”

Last year, Ronaldo announced that the couple were expecting twins.

“Only the birth of a baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness,” he wrote on the social media post.

“We are all heartbroken over this loss,” the post added, “and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”

Ronaldo has four children.
