Roommate, Paul Allard Hodgkins, just received his first felony conviction in relation to Riots in the US Congress back in January. He had been formally sentenced to eight months in prison earlier for his role in America’s Capitol Riots that left scores dead and dozens injured when hundreds of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol.
Paul Allard Hodgkins, 38, from Tampa, Florida, who was seen in various viral photos from the US Congressional Rally, has now sentenced of mortal sin for his role in the deadly revolt. Hodgkins was initially arrested back in February and convicted last month of one count of obstructing a formal proceeding, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years. However, Hodgkins won’t serve anywhere near that amount – as US District Court Judge Randolph Moss formally sentenced him to just eight months in prison.
Hodgkins’ attorney, Patrick Leduc, pleaded with the judge for leniency, saying he was a “law-abiding, hardworking, honest, caring, kind, caring, generous and kind of friend” want to have for neighbors. [He] lost his direction and path… made the fateful decision to follow the crowd and find himself in about 15 minutes in a place he truly regrets going.”
Meanwhile, Paul Allard Hodgkins expressed regret for his actions during sentencing:
“I can say without a doubt that I truly regret and regret my actions, not because I had to face the consequences but because of the damage that incident caused that day and the way it was done. This country that I love has been hurt.”
He went on to add, “I realized that my involvement still contributed to the larger issue that had taken place. Our company, who remained calmer during our protests may have made others feel encouraged. “
