Man escapes Elgin police in St. Charles during transport to Kane County Sheriff’s Department

ST. CHARLES, Ailing. (WLS) — Elgin and St. Charles police are on the lookout for a person who escaped custody whereas being transported to the Kane County Sheriff’s Division.

St. Charles officers stated an Elgin police officer was transporting Hugo R. Avila after he was remanded into custody following a bond name listening to for felony visitors offenses. Officers stated the officer was stopped in visitors close to Randall Street and Route 64 when he noticed Avila flee from the police transport van.

Avila is described as a 21-year-old man with black hair and brown eyes. He’s about 5 ft. 8 in. tall and weighs 125 lbs. He was final seen sporting a white t-shirt and blue denims, and was fleeing northeast.

Elgin is being assisted by the St. Charles Police Division and Kane County Sheriff’s Division of their search. At 5:45 p.m., metropolis officers stated they imagine Avila has left the speedy St. Charles space. They requested anybody with data to name the Elgin Police Division at 847-289-2700.

In accordance with Kane County court docket information, Avila was in court docket to face felony traffic-related offenses, together with aggravated fleeing a police officer, rushing, driving with no legitimate license and possession of drug paraphernalia.
