Man dead, 3 others injured after multiple vehicle collision in Scarborough – Toronto

Toronto Police say one man was dead and three others injured after three vehicles collided in Scarborough.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., emergency teams were called to the Warden and St. Clair Avenue area

Service Inspector Jeff Bangild said a vehicle was traveling at about 40 mph in the southbound lanes on Warden Avenue when it came to a stop behind another vehicle.

That vehicle then swerved into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a third vehicle, Bangild said.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the collision, police said.

Toronto paramedics said a man in his 60s was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Two others were also injured and taken to hospital in serious but not life-threatening conditions – a woman in his 40s and a man in his 50s – paramedics said.

Bangild said alcohol is not a factor, nor is it a criminal behavior.
