Madden is once again teaming up with Nickelodeon for the annual Slimetime event, bringing Sponge Bob, Rugrats and TMNT content to Madden 22.
The NFL heads into the knockout stages this weekend, with wildcard games between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers, the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys, etc. Madden NFL 22 celebratory of course, but not necessarily in the way some might expect. Madden NFL 22 will bring back Nickelodeon Slimetime, a crossover event that introduces SpongeBob SquarePants content to the soccer game. And this year, SpongeBob is bringing some more Nickelodeon friends along.
The Nickelodeon Slimetime event will once again be part of Madden NFL 22‘S Yard mode, making this the second year of the annual event. The Yard is an entertainment mode that includes 6v6 matches, unique destinations, fun cosmetics and special challenges. As part of the Nickelodeon Slime Time event, The Yard’s yard will be plastered with green slime and other fun Nickelodeon stadium flair. Challenges with SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Rugrats will also be available. Maybe even have some special cosmetics on hand.
Slimetime will also make it past the real NFL knockouts. Nickelodeon there will be a live broadcast of the NFL’s special playoff again, just like it did in 2021. This year’s highlight will be the 49ers vs. Cowboys in Dallas. The show begins Sunday, January 16, at 4:30 p.m. ET. Expect lots of kid commentary and slime graphics, not to mention the 82 gallons of realistic slime thrown into the game.
Before the weekend comes, Madden NFL 22 there’s another big event to wrap up. The end of today is Madden NFL 22‘S Ultimate Wild Card Tournament 22. The winner, which will be decided between Henry, SpamminButtons, K3rryQ and Wesley, will earn a $75,000 prize pool, with the runner-up earning between $25,000 and $35,000.
Today also marks the beginning of Madden NFL 22Campus Legends mode of adding two new teams. Both Alabama and Ohio State will join the previously announced list of 10 teams, which includes LSU, the University of Texas, USC, the University of Florida and the University of Oregon.
Suffice it to say, there’s a lot going on in Madden NFL 22 this weekend. Nickelodeon Slimetime officially starts today, though special NFL Wild Card broadcast will air on Nickelodeon on Sundays. It’s a great way for young fans of both the NFL and Nickelodeon to enjoy both hobbies at the same time.
Madden NFL 22 currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
