LSU’s Kayshon Boutte named on the Maxwell Awards Watchlist – Crescent City Sports

BATON ROUGE – LSU’s Kayshon Boutte Record Wide Receiver Has Been Named watchlist for the Maxwell Prize, awarded annually to outstanding player in college football, Maxwell Football Club announced on Monday.

A year ago as a freshman, Boutte set the Southeast Conference singles record for yards with 308 out of 14 picks in LSU’s 53-48 win over Ole Miss at Tiger Stadium.

Boutte, a New Iberian, Louisiana-born, finished his rookie season with three consecutive 100-yard reception games and went on to win the All-American Freshman title from the Ball Writers Association United States stone. He was also named Freshman All-SEC.

In LSU’s last three games in 2020, Boutte has combined to catch 27 passes for 527 yards and four TDs, including three in the Ole Miss win. He also scored on a 33-yard welcome in the Florida No. 6 win.

In 10 games in 2020, Boutte has caught 45 passes 735 yards and 5 touches. He ranks among the league leaders in both the reception and the pitch.

The Maxwell Award has been presented to the College’s Player of the Year since 1937 and is named in honor of Robert “Tiny” Maxwell, who was a featured player at Swarthmore College and a sports and sports writer and Famous football officials.

Former LSU great Joe Burrow won the Maxwell Award in 2019 after leading the Tigers 15-0 and the national title.

The semi-finalists for the Maxwell Prize will be announced on November 1, 2021, while the three finalists for the Maxwell Prize will be announced on November 22, 2021. The Maxwell Prize 2021 winners will be announced as part of the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Ceremony to be held on December 9, 2021. Official Maxwell Awards presentations will be made at the Gala. awarding the Maxwell Football Club by Tropicana Hotel & Casino Atlantic City on 11 March 2022.
