LPL orgs are signing Wild Rift rosters as its esports scene kicks off in China

League of Legends has yet to be released on mobile in China, but some ambitious e-sports plans for a MOBA game are already available in the store.

While the game is called Wild Rift around the world, it is simply called Mobile League of Legends in the Asian country. It was approved by the National Press and Publication Administration of China (NPPA) last February but the official release date has yet to be revealed. It is published by Tencent and is currently being tested, with the latest conducted from July 20 onwards.

Last month, TJ Sports, a joint venture of Tencent and Riot Games responsible for conducting the LPL, disclosure e-sports plan for Mobile League of Legends in China.

There will be three separate “tracks” for the game’s e-sports scene in the country leading up to the professional e-sports tournament. This is the national competition, the LPL track and the influencer race.

As part of the LPL track, 16 teams from the LPL will compete Mobile Alliance for five spots in a professional eSports tournament later this year. While the LPL has 17 teams, Suning will not participate Mobile Alliance. Dot Esports could not verify the reason behind this.

The first contest for Mobile Alliance in China would be Super Burning Warm-Up Tournament (translated from Mandarin) on July 26 and 27. The results of this competition will be linked to the grouping for the official LPL track, which will begin in September.

16 LPL organizations compete in Mobile Alliance are BiliBili Gaming, Edward Gaming, FunPlus Phoenix, Invictus Gaming, JD Gaming, LGD Gaming, LNG Esports, Oh My God, Rare Atom, Rogue Warriors, Royal Never Give Up, Team WE, ThunderTalk Gaming, Top Esports, Ultra Prime and Chien Chien Win Five.

Top teams from the LPL track will also qualify for Wild Rift The 2021 World Championships, will be held later this year.

In the national competition channel, 32 “non-LPL” teams will compete for six spots in the professional league. Finally, the influencer’s channel will see six “influencers” form a group and lock horns Mobile Alliance, with one of them making it to the pro league. An eSports documentary featuring these six influencers will also be created as they form teams and vie for a spot in the league. This entire circuit will run from August 2021 to January 2022.

TJ Sports is committed to creating a large e-sports ecosystem for Mobile Alliance in China.
