No one was threatened with elimination on Day 19, but that didn’t make the reconnection any less nerve-wracking for some, who feared they might not get the chance to mate with their match of choice.

Love Island re-coupling

What happened in episode 19 of Love Island?

A text message alert at the start of the show told the men that at the end of the day they would decide who they would date – cue: lots of peacocks and deep/desperate conversations.

Following his breakup with Ekin-Su on Thursday night’s episode, Jay began dating Paige.

Andrew and Tasha’s relationship may be the next to fall apart as Tasha went on a date with newcomer Charlie and seemed to make it pretty clear that she wanted to hook up with him.

Luckily, Andrew was a gentleman in the situation, complimented Tasha a lot and said he wasn’t surprised that Charlie chose her for a date.

Charlie also took out Ekin-Su and they hit it off too, which presented Charlie with a difficult decision. Charlie spoke to both Tasha and Ekin-Su throughout the day to find out where their heads were.

Tasha told Charlie that she was happy with Andrew but had a really good date with Charlie and that the ball was ultimately up to him.

What happened during the feedback?

In keeping with Love Island tradition, the islanders gathered around the fire pit to reconnect.

Luca and Gemma were reunited and Luca could not have been happier as he had spent enough last week fretting over the loss of Gemma to Davide.

Next, Dami jumped with Indiyah, Jay jumped the good ship Ekin-Su to pair with Paige – though she shared a kiss with Jaques before saying she’d give Jay a chance.

It was Charlie’s time and he chose Ekin-Su, meaning Andrew was able to remain bonded with Tasha, much to Dami’s and Lucas’ disappointment.

Davide mated with Antigoni, leaving Jaques to mate with Danica.

When is Love Island next on TV?

Love Island: Unseen Bits – the show no one really wants to watch but tunes in anyway because it doesn’t air a ‘proper’ episode of Love Island on Saturdays – airs on ITV2 on June 25 at 9pm.

Unseen Bits features clips from last week at the mansion that weren’t good enough to make it on the original show, but were thrown together with offal to be eaten every Saturday.

Normal Love Island service will resume on Sunday 26 June at 9pm with a regular episode full of Villa dramas of the day. This is followed at 10.05pm by Love Island: Aftersun with gossip and celebrity interviews. Love Island: Episode 19 recap – who did Charlie couple with?
