Love And Thunder’ Tessa Thompson star clarifies ‘porn’ power comments

Tessa Thompson recently raised an eyebrow when she seemed to hint that Valkyrie will get a big power-up when she returns in the series. Thor: Love and Thunder later this year. The last time we saw the ancient warrior in Avengers: Endgame, Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder has named her as his successor as ruler of New Asgard, so expect her to be in a very different position in the Taika Waititi-directed sequel.

But for now it looks like this won’t include her getting some weird new powers, after all. In a recent interviewThompson talks about how Valkyrie guides the dead to Valhalla, the Asgardian afterlife, as well as occasionally resurrecting people – which she describes as “quite erotic”. Looks like we haven’t seen any proof of this in Thor: RagnarokThompson seems to confirm that these possibilities will lead to Love and Thunder.

The Westworld The actress has now cooled down all this kind of speculation, however, with recently Instagram post. Thompson used her stories to share a selfie, and her caption for the photo cleared up any confusion. You can see a screenshot of her post for yourself below:

“When I talked about Valkyrie to W Mag, I was talking in general terms about regular powers and what I love about reading comics, not comic books. Thor: Love and Thunder,” she wrote. “I am not a house for perverts.”

Then, by the sound of things, Thompson was just chatting about Valkyrie’s powers from the comics that haven’t made it into the MCU and not discussing plot points from Love and Thunder. Even if that’s the case, though, we’re hoping to learn a lot more about the heroine this time around. Discovering her real name would be a good start!

After a few reshuffles of the release date, Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters this July 6.
