As street fighting detective Takayuki Yagami and his sidekick, former Yakuza member Masaharu Kaito, investigate a mysterious murder in Judgment lost, they will have many new tools to use. The game’s latest trailer focuses on some of Yagami’s cool new abilities and gear as part of his detective kit. However, Localization Director Scott Stchart reminded players that everything is not all and the game is fun — the game includes different injuries and dark themes and players need to be in the right mind to deal with them.
Yagami’s investigation will lead him to a new city, specifically the Isezaki Ijincho district of Yokohama. He will take new investigative actions to help him track down suspects and follow clues. These include chasing and tailing suspects, disguises to blend in with crowds more easily, and the ability to sneak into buildings, using parkour to reach difficult places. Search Mode will highlight clues while his new Photography skill will gather evidence of secret meetings. New gadgets include a Noise Amplifier to amplify distant sounds, a Signal Detector to monitor those suspicious signals, and a Detective Dog to track down suspects.
Combat has been boosted with the introduction of a new battle mode. Participation Tiger and Crane is the new Snake martial art style that allows players to harness the power of an enemy’s attack and throw it back at them instantly. The trailer also focuses on some new points School story where Yagami will be operating undercover at Yokohama High School. There are activities like a boxing gym, a robot club, a dance club, motor races, skateboarding and even a chance to play Sonic Fighters. However, the game’s Director of Localization Scott Strichart has warned players not to focus too much on the fun stuff the game includes. He warned the game still deals with very dark themes and players need to be mentally prepared to deal with those.
