Lost Ark strangely swapped the debut Summoner class and replaced it with a witch

Lost Ark Sorceress

We’re getting closer to the launch of Lost Ark early next year, and as they continue to prepare to launch the game, Smilegate has made an interesting and perhaps surprising twist. If you want to play a Summoner at launch, you’ll want to have a backup plan like they announced today a new Wizard class will replace the Summoner in the game’s launch lineup. This doesn’t mean you won’t be able to play as a Summoner in the end, it just means that that particular class won’t be one of the fifteen we see at launch.

Based on the information on the Sorceress reveal post, it seems that this decision was made as a way to give players some of the newer character classes already available in Korea while maintaining the ten five classes at debut. Sorceress is the latest character class to be added to the Korean game, joining the lineup in August. The post also states that the developers want to offer a wide range of gameplay as well as include any class that has both. Selected male and female (I’m not sure Sorceress does), rather than gendered classes, in the first place. .

The Sorceress is an elemental class that uses fire, ice, and lightning in battle. Her attribute skills range from dropping meteor shards on enemies to shooting ice arrows that not only injure enemies but also slow them. A detailed summary of her powers is available on class page. You can also check her out in the trailer below.
