Lost Ark delayed: Release time pushed back due to server issues

Lost beer keg was delayed due to “deployment problems”. This may be due to the success of the game during early access. The developers can anticipate the servers going down with the massive amount of traffic that the free release will bring. The delay shouldn’t be too much, but players should wait a few hours.

Why is the release of Lost Ark delayed?

Lost Ark has seen more hype than anticipated, which is likely to happen Amazon Games want to boost my servers before launch. As we’ve seen with almost every major multiplayer game over the past 15 years, launch day is rife with connectivity issues, server outages, and general annoyance. Amazon Games is delaying Lost Ark to try and minimize those problems as much as possible.

The developers haven’t gone into the specifics of what “deployment problems” mean. It could be that setting up and running new servers takes longer than expected. Additionally, Amazon Games may take the time to ensure that traffic routing is ready to load. Load balancing is important to make sure the servers aren’t overloaded as it doesn’t matter how many servers you have if players aren’t being moved to them.

While Lost Ark is new to us, it’s actually a game that’s two and a half years old. It was released in South Korea on December 4, 2019, and was successful enough there to garner Amazon Games interest. It’s an action RPG in style Diabloand fans of that genre are definitely looking for something to fill the void besides Path of Exile.

The game saw a peak of 532,476 players on Steam a few days ago and that number got even bigger when it officially launched. So it is likely that we will see some broken records after the delay is over. We’ll be looking at the game in more detail in the coming days, so check back for more info.
