LoR holiday B-patch nerf Yordle, Pirate and Kennen decks

A surprise Legends of Runeterra Magic Misadventures B-patch will take place today, according to Riot Games.

The release Magic Misadventures open LoR The meta initially bounced back, but then it quickly became overwhelmed with a bunch of Poppy yordle and Kennen collectible decks. Riot revealed on Twitter that a total of five major nerfs are expected to take place today, providing healthy balance shifts over the winter holiday season.

Poppy has fallen from the domination with the release LoR Patch 2.21, offset a bit by adding Yordle Explorer. Kennen takes Poppy’s place, often exploited by the summoning abilities of Kinkou Wayfinder and God-Willow Seedling. And through it all, Gangplank is still one of the strongest LoR champions in the meta.

Players can now breathe a sigh of relief while recovering the neurons that build on that deck thanks to LoR 2.21 B-patch has been nerfed Poppy, Gangplank, Yordle Explorer, God-Willow Seedling, and Kinkou Wayfinder.

• Poppy: Her base stats are reduced from 3/3 to 23, and her level up stats are also reduced from 4/4 to 3/4
• Yordle Explorer: Yordle’s buff ability has been reduced from level +1 / + 1 to level +1 / + 0
• Kinkou Wayfinder: No longer summons two one-cost units, but two different one-cost units instead
• Magic Willow Seedling: Countdown increased from two to three
• Gangplank: Base stats reduced from 5/5 to 5/4 and his level up stats reduced from 6/6 to 6/5

Kinkou Wayfinder’s efforts may not be enough, but it should reduce the amount of Kennens on the board a bit during winter break. It’s a safe approach, giving the meta time to adjust before potentially nerfing Kennen builds.

Changes to Poppy and Yordle Explorer will hurt the Yordle Aggro decks but should keep them somewhat playable. And the nerf to Gangplank could provide better countermeasures to LoR Pirates of Bilgewater.

All balance changes to Lor 2.21 B-patch will be out on December 14th. The next balance patch is scheduled to take place on January 5th via Patch 3.0.
