LNG Esports bids farewell to mid laner Xie “Icon” Tian-Yu today. Icon spent nearly a year with the team after signing LNG in December 2020.

During her time with LNG, Icon contributed to one of the organization’s most successful years at LPL. Despite finishing eighth in the Spring Split, LNG quickly became one of the top teams in the Summer Split and placed fourth in the Summer Playoffs.

After defeating Team WE in the regional qualifiers, Icon helped LNG qualify for Worlds for the first time in the team’s history. Although they dominated in the Play-Ins Round of Worlds, LNG’s fortunes ended with the Group Stage.

Icon joined LNG in December 2020 after 5 years with OMG, where he has spent his entire career. With LNG, Icon made it to his first international match and the first time in his career making the first knockout round of his career. Now, Icon must traverse the murky waters of free agency.

LNG rumored to be picked up FunPlus Phoenix’s former world champion and mid laner, Kim “DoinB” Tae-sang. While LNG is likely to find players to fill empty mid lane slots, Icon has yet to find a new home ahead of the 2022 LPL Spring Split.
