List of Indian athletes who have won medals at the Summer Olympics
It took India only four years to see their first performance at the Summer Olympics, and the first modern Olympics were held in 1896 in Athens, Greece. It all started in 1900 for India, when Norman Pritchard was sent to Paris alone, where he won two medals in the 200-meter dash and the 200-meter hurdles.
Since then, India has participated in every Summer Games and sent its first Olympic delegation of four athletes and two wrestlers in the 1920s. However, it wasn’t until 1928, when they watched their next medal, so did the Indian hockey team. Indian hockey teams often won the Indian Olympics.
